The cases, and when each is right

UPPERCASE — headings and labels. Avoid it for body text; all-caps is measurably slower to read.
lowercase — stripping shouty text back, or normalising data before comparing it.
Title Case — headlines and page titles.
Sentence case — the safest default for anything anyone has to read.
camelCase — variables in Java, JavaScript and Dart.
snake_case — Python variables and database columns.
kebab-case — URLs, CSS classes and file names.

Why not do it in Word

Word's Change Case handles the three English cases and none of the programming ones, and it rewrites your document in place — so getting it wrong means undoing rather than just looking again. Pasting here leaves the original untouched and shows every option at once.

A caution on Title Case

Different style guides disagree about which small words get capitalised. "The Quick Brown Fox Jumps Over the Lazy Dog" follows one convention; another capitalises "Over" too. If you are writing to a house style, check the result rather than trusting any converter blindly.
